Girls’ track: Stephanie Walton
Stephanie Walton (11) has been named that athlete of the issue by girl’s track coach, Chris Mascotti.
Walton does the high jump, the long jump and runs in the 4×200 relay, as well as the 4×400 relay.
She has already experienced success at invites this year. Walton placed second at the Lexington Invite in the long jump.
Mascotti believes Stephanie can win the OCC in long jump.
“She has the potential experience to achieve great success at the OCC tournament, as well as at Sectionals and Districts. She is a leader on this girl’s team, and she is only a junior,” Mascotti said.
Walton has also set a few personal goals for the season.
“I have three personal goals for the upcoming season: I want to get 16 feet in long jump, five feet in high jump and to get the 4×400 relay to Regionals,” Walton said.
