Students explore Disney Parks
The Wooster High School marching band and orchestra travelled to Walt Disney World over spring break to make music and make memories.
215 students and 21 adults loaded into five charter buses for the approximately 20 hour bus ride to Orlando, Florida.
During a visit to the Magic Kingdom, the marching band marched down Main Street, U.S.A., in the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.”
While spending a day in EPCOT, the orchestra took part in Disney’s “You’re Instrumental” workshop, which included sightreading Disney music.
The group also visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs. The group saw performances including “Fantasmic!,” “Wishes,” “The Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth,” in addition to enjoying free time to explore the parks.
According to the WHS Music website, Wooster’s band and orchestra has travelled to Walt Disney World every four years since 1996. This year’s trip took place from March 19 to 24.
