Police dog gifted with new vest
The General Grounds staff donated a bulletproof vest to Officer Josh Timko’s police dog, Haro, as a thank you for his service and also for his protection in the field on April 29.
In the beginning of the year, Timko came in to speak about drug use and discussed that he worked with Haro, a German Shepherd police canine, who aids with drug searches, amongst other tasks.
According to Molly Mahaney, intervention specialist, one student asked if Haro had a bulletproof vest and Timko replied that Haro currently did not, but he noted that they were trying to raise money for one.
The proceeds for the vest were raised through coffee shop funds as part of the new service aspect of the store.
