Letter to the Editor: Community member encourages voting
November 3rd is General Election Day! If you are 18 years or older, this is an election in which you should definitely cast a vote. If you are under 18, talk to your family and friends about the candidates up for election. There are contested positions on both the Wooster City Council and the Wooster City School Board and others across the county. Visit the Wayne County Board of Elections website at votewayne.org to view a list of candidates for all elections countywide and to review voter registration, polling locations and sample ballots. The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 5th. Absentee voting by mail and in person begins on Tuesday, Oct. 6th.
The League of Women Voters of Wayne County will host a Candidates Night on Thursday, October 1st starting at 7:00 pm. at the Wayne County Public Library in downtown Wooster. This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to meet candidates, ask questions and learn their views on issues of interest. Also, remember that all school board meetings are open to the public and are a great way to become familiar with the issues and to get to know those representing taxpayers as board members. The school board meeting dates and agendas can be found on the district website at www.boarddocs.com/oh/wooster/Board.nsf/Public
