2017 Expectations
While 2016 will be a year to remember, there remains much uncertainty and even uneasiness to what the year 2017 will bring.
What is for certain is that every American should expect change under a new presidential administration. Whether or not this is a positive change is unknown and is currently up to the opinion of every individual, but with Donald Trump being one of the loudest detractors of the current administration, it is safe to assume many changes, affecting the entire population, will be made.
One positive prediction for 2017 is continued economic growth. Danielle Marceau, writes in an article for forbes.com, “2017 Economic Forecast: Better Than 2016,” that there are multiple indicators for a better year ahead.
“Wage growth is beginning to pick up, consumers are increasing their confidence levels and the industrial and manufacturing sides of the economy are also showing shifts in the right direction,” Marceau writes.
On the entertainment side, one should expect an onslaught of movie series continuations such as Transformers: the Last Knight, War for the Planet of the Apes and Star Wars: Episode VIII, as well as a continuation of domination of the music industry by popular names such as Beyoncé, who racked up nine Grammy nominations, followed Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West with eight nominations, and Chance the Rapper on their heels with seven.
The most exciting expectation for the year of 2017, however, comes in the field of technology. Eye-popping new 4K televisions, unbelievable new cameras and virtual reality gear such as the Oculus Rift and the PlayStation VR, along with futuristic electronic and self-driving cars should all be expected to make a splash in the upcoming year.
Overall, 2017 may be unpredictable, but it promises to be an exciting year with endless possibilities of potential political turmoil, economic growth, and new movies and gadgets to keep us entertained through it all.
