Editor evaluates essential political events
The year 2016 has most certainly been an interesting year for politics in the United States.
The presidential campaigns, run on both sides, were focused mainly upon personal attacks of the opposing side, which is a trend that should not continue. This type of campaigning dims the spotlight that should be placed on the policies that each candidate would like to implement.
Furthermore, it is important that a more professional tone is established among those who are leading the country, as they should be setting an example for the decorum that others in the country should attempt to follow.
Our president-elect is known for an unprofessional tone and, at times, an offensive style of speech. It is absolutely imperative that he departs from this path and instead conducts himself in a respectable manner.
From a political standpoint, 2016 has not been a model year, and the trends the year furthered must end.
