Patrick Saline reflects on his hockey career
Patrick Saline (12) began playing hockey in the second grade.
With no experience in the game beforehand, Saline said he picked it up rather quickly.
Saline helps the team by playing two of the main hockey positions: right wing and, occasionally, center.
Reflecting on his performance in hockey, Saline said, “I feel like I’ve grown as a player this year. Our coach has introduced me to new systems and plays this year that have made me a more well-rounded player.”
With new players introduced to the team this season, Saline has been successful in setting a good example.
“As a team, we have won two tournaments. We have also beaten the best team in the league, Team Audi of Mentor, who was previously undefeated,” Saline said.
The team is lower in the standings than they hoped, but they have a chance at redemption in the playoffs.
Saline plans on going to school for engineering, which does not leave much room for furthering his career in hockey, but his goals for his last year in the sport are to get a hat trick, which is three goals in one game and to end his career on a good note, hopefully, by going to the Buckeye Cup State Championship.
